How Jellyfish Live Under the Sea

By Marc M

Jellyfish are not fish at all. They are invertebrates. They are blue, white, pink, orange, and lavender. They can grow from 1 inch to 200 feet. A jellyfish has no head, brain, heart, eyes or ears. It has no bones. Jellyfish are shaped like an upside down bowl. They are soft and see through.

Jellyfish have many predators like loggerhead sea turtles, spadefish, the blue sea slug, ocean sunfish, other jellyfish, and sea turtles.

Jellyfish live in seas, lakes, rivers, icy cold waters, shallow water, warm tropical seas, and up to 2 miles below the water’s surface.

Jellyfish use their tentacles to catch food. They use their tentacles to pass their food to their mouth. Jellyfish eat shrimp and plankton.
